The CCRED team has significant capability in competition economics and regulation resulting from work done on competition cases and in economic regulation in a variety of sectors.

These sectors include plastics, construction products, chemical resins, academic book stores, insurance, personal care, medical implants, petrochemicals, fertiliser,  paper, gas, biotechnology/seeds, newspaper publishing and printing. Having identified a critical gap in the depth and volume of research into the growing areas of competition law and economics as they relate to the African continent in particular especially in the context of many new and under-resourced authorities doing this work around the continent, there is a need to fill this gap by providing useful, and in-depth analysis by African practitioners, for African practitioners. Through publication of its research and providing opportunities for interaction among stakeholders on the basis of its research findings, CCRED is attempting to fill this gap.
