Regional integration and mining value chains

Judith Fessehaie of the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) outlines the research on regional mining value chains, focussed on her work in Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Fessehaie also argues that a simplistic reading of the "resource curse" does not do justice to the possibilities for development of institutions and human capital in the mining sector.

Judith Fessehaie is a senior associate at the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED). In this interview hosted at the Trade and Industrial Policy Strategies and UNU - Wider annual conference she outlines her research on regional mining value chains in Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
